always prepared for adventure

that blogworthy item i mentioned just now? it has come, and my brother hasn't dissapointed. one word sums it up: MacGyver. who remembers saturday afternoons with this guy? i now have the complete first series... let me quote the blurb:

"he's everyone's favourite action hero.. but he's a hero with a difference. Angus MacGyver (Richard Dean Anderson) is a secret agent whose wits are his deadliest weapon. Armed with only a knapsack filled with everyday items he picks up along the way, he improvises his way out of every peril the bad guys throw at him.

Making a bomb out of chewing gum? Fixing a speeding car's brakes...while he's riding in it? Using soda pop to cook up tear gas? That's all in a day's adventures for MacGyver. He's part Boy Scout, part genius. And all hero."

not such a good day

that thunder yesterday really cleared the air a bit. today it's fresher, with a bit of rain -- no picnic today i fear.

ne'er mind - i got some good news this morn, and my brother informs me he's sent me something 'blogworthy' in the post. should be here today... i'll let you know. i've got a bit of a confusing problem here at the moment regarding bandmerging, so i had better get back to that. see you later.

yet another lovely day

this great weather continues -- this sort of day doesn't come two-a-penny. just had lunch outside again, the only downside being the extortionate charges for sandwiches round here. hope the sun continues to shine for a few days yet.

am i hearing this right... cheese *club*?

in light of the success of whisky club -- we had a thought while we were down the boozer last night: cheese club!

i'd be interested who would be interested in this little venture... some nice cheeses, wine, and the inevitable grape.

other thoughts about clubs:
  • pipe club
  • cigar club
  • cured meats club
  • (insert anything here) club

the lost 10 minutes of 311

john and me think we've just travelled through some sort of time-portal on the way back from the coffee room. i'll explain.

norris left the coffee room first, with a nearly full glass of juice. john and i followed about 5seconds later. then, walking up the stairs to 311, we met norris coming back down the stars *towards* the coffee room, with an empty glass.

the explanation? we passed through some sort of time-hole somewhere between 311 and the coffee-room, in the process losing about 10 minutes. norris surely couldn't have drunk the orange *and* made his way back down the stairs in the few seconds between our departures?

unduly harsh?

i agree with john's sentiments to some extent -- i like moyles, i like/fancy jo whiley, and i also quite like edith...

interesting

if anyone's looked at apod today, they may have followed the link ton the movie of the titan lander huygens.

here's the link to the movie -- i recommend it strongly:

shocking

ya-ouch! i keep getting static shocks of metal objects in the department. must be these damn shoes... it's particularly bad when i go to get a drink from the tap next door, which is (of course) metal.

i'f only i could harness this energy in some way... perhaps if i cover a tree with....

ear-ly in the morning

morning!

i'n early this morn -- woke up at about 6am with one of those weird sensations that you don't know whether it's sunday or monday morning. to my chagrin it was the latter, and so i got up. the result is that i'm at the desk afore 8am. time to get on with a hard day's work!

i'm wondering how john got on at his pool match and rock night this weekend -- i hope he'll enlighten us when he gets in.

see you later.
