our new hero

the guy in the blog below is Gambrinus (a legendary king of Flanders, and an unofficial patron saint of beer or beer brewing). he is our new mascot and hero. we love the audacity of this guy -- the ermine, the giant goblet, the crown (ok, he is a king).

Gambrinus is often depicted either in kingly garb, dressed as an English knight of the Middle Ages, or (less commonly) as a plump old man.

Thanks to wikipedia for the above information on Gambrinus.

all quiet on the blog front

apologies for the lack of blog today -- me and john are going through a period of unrivalled productivity on the old astronomy front. will try to keep up more in future.

in celebration, we're off to the boozer for a well earned pint!

cheers, have a good night!

Clearly a crank. Who buys this sort of stuff?

Dear Partner,

My name is MR PHILI JAMES, I am the auditor and head of
computing department of a bank here in scotland, United Kingdom. There
is an account opened in this bank in 1997 where £30,000,000.00 (Thirty
Million Pounds Sterling) was found. And since my inception into office
in 2001, nobody has operated on this account again. I have the courage
to look for a person who will be capable to handle this important
transaction with me.

I discovered this information After going through
some old files, if i do not Remit this money out urgently; it will be
forfeited for nothing in this bank.

So what i need from you is to
kindly assist me by standing as the next of kin of MR JOHN who deid on
10 jun 2000 , All legal document and information needed in the claiming
of this money is with me. At the end we will share the money. But
before giveing you any information we will write agreement about the
shareing of the money.

If you will fully assist me on your reply to
this mail send a breif introdution about your self.

I will fill you in
with further details upon your reply.

Sincerely yours,

MR PHILI JAMES.

another lovely day

though too hot in 311, ever since our fan gave up the ghost. there's no breeze through the window, which makes it even worse.

ne'er mind, i can't complain...

enjoy your day.

ps -- when is this SF2 tounament going to kick off? i'm more than willing to chip in for a console and game -- i think ebay is the best place to get it, but i haven't got an account or anything... tiger!

my trainers are starting to rot, and stink... now that i've been paid, perhaps i could shell out on some new ones. to save john, i am storing them outside the window.

fish sim

i'll be bringing this into work when i get it unpacked: www.fishsim2.com. my only problem with this is that its purely coarse fishing, and i'm a sea fisherman (my brother will no doubt be commenting on my prowess). i just find sea fishing more exciting: you have the waves, the tides... a better hunt because you have to be alert all the time. probably my favourite time is at nightfall on the beach, with a little fire and a killer rig... bliss.

a thousand apologies

there have been complaints for the lack of blog over the past few days... it has been a time of intense work in 311, what can i say? anyway, i'll think of something to write and get baack to you soon (now i 'have' the 'internet' at home).
